Hey people, This week was 72 and sunny! What a dream! It didn't last long and it's already back down and rainy, but it was good to see the sun for a minute! Highlights of this week: We got to meet Hayes! He is from China and has never really heard of or believed in God so it was really cool getting to teach him that he has a Father in Heaven who loves him. I've never taught anyone who didn't already believe in God so that was a way cool experience. We actually got to meet with him twice last week! We taught him about Jesus Christ and how to pray and about the scriptures. We also conveniently had a Chinese Book of Mormon in our apartment so we gave that to him and he was so excited! He has already started reading and praying. It's cool to think that on Wednesday God heard from Hayes for the first time in his whole life! I can only imagine how excited and happy Heavenly Father must've been to hear from him! Hayes also came to church yesterday and liked it so we are super pumped. He's really cool and funny too. After our first lesson he asked to take a selfie with us. We shamelessly did so. We set up Colton's baptismal interview so that's super exciting! He's so great! I can't wait for him to get baptized! We got called some choice words from some random not very nice guy as he was passing us in his car. Not sure if he was referring to us being missionaries or because we were waiting at the bus stop. Either way, rude and not very Christlike. But I forgave him, it's my duty as a saint... On Friday we had district council. We all coordinated and wore red white and blue and sang the Star Spangled Banner. Wow. God bless America. It was SO GREAT! I got Bible bashed for the first time ever. He said some interesting and very false doctrine and I had the perfect Bible reference ready to go to shut him down, but Stoker reminded me to be better and not argue with him. So I put my scriptures away told him to have a nice day and we left. Nothing good comes from contention:) But he was very persistent in not letting us talk so he could "edumacate us on who we're wershin up". Some peoples's kids.... On Sunday the guys all sang the primary song I'm trying to be like Jesus. It was the sweetest thing. And then all us women sang it. The lyrics are 10/10. let me just... I’m trying to be like Jesus; I’m following in his ways. I’m trying to love as he did, in all that I do and say. At times I am tempted to make a wrong choice, But I try to listen as the still small voice whispers, “Love one another as Jesus loves you. Try to show kindness in all that you do. Be gentle and loving in deed and in thought, For these are the things Jesus taught.” I’m trying to love my neighbor; I’m learning to serve my friends. I watch for the day of gladness when Jesus will come again. I try to remember the lessons he taught. Then the Holy Spirit enters into my thoughts, saying: “Love one another as Jesus loves you. Try to show kindness in all that you do. Be gentle and loving in deed and in thought, For these are the things Jesus taught. The lyrics to this song are so simple and pure. Just like the Gospel. I also think they speak so much truth about true love, Christ's love. Especially this week as we celebrate Valentines Day, a day devoted to love, remember this message. Christ performed the ultimate act of love in suffering, atoning for, and dying for us. Him and Heavenly Father love each and every one of us so much. This is evident through the scriptures, prophets, temples, the priesthood, the gospel, and our families and friends. We have been given these things and more just because they love us and want us to be happy. Share this love with others and "Remember you are never alone. Never forget that you are loved. Never doubt that someone surely cares for you." -Thomas S. Monson Thank you for the love yall give me. For all the prayers, emails, letters and packages. Have the best week and Valentines Day and don't forget to treat yerself cause God loves ya! kloveyoubye, Sister Fisher
