Hey did ya miss me? Sorry for no blog last week I was too busy kicking butt at bowling. Seriously I've always hated bowling because I'm terrible at it but it must be the extra faith that gave me the skill to beat the elders. Feeling good about that! This week flew by and it seems like the days are just dwindling. Sister Weiman and I have had ample time to do finding and with that has come alot of tender mercies, blessing and plenty of laughs. One guy we met on Saturday named Jack, great guy, embraced the Book of Mormon and our message with an open heart. That very day he read 40 minutes from the Book of Mormon and had it with him in hand when he showed up to church yesterday! He was so moved by our meetings on Sunday and made great connections with those in the ward! I cannot wait to start teaching him this week because he's just so bright and eager to learn. Here is one thing he said that stuck with me. When we were telling him how awesome it was that he had read so much he jusy shrugged and said, "It was only 40 minutes out of the 24 hours that I had." Later when we asked him if he had any questions about church he said, "I just need to read more. I know I'll have some as I keep reading." I've known this guy for about a day and he's already been such a great example to me on the importance of the scriptures. We aren't all over achievers like Jack but reading every single day, no matter long, will change our lives. Something so simple. But that's the way God has always worked. Simply! I think about Moses's people and how all they had to do to be healed from fatal, venomous snake bites was to just look at the dang staff! What's crazy sad is that so many of them lacked the faith to find healing in something so simple. It's so easy to look beyond the mark and miss the simple things that will give us peace, strength and light. So what I'm saying is read the dang scriptures! As you do this simple thing you will, as Jack pointed out, have more questions and in turn get more answers that will fuel your faith! I know I've found my life in the pages of the scriptures. I treasure them. Oh also Ashwin wants to get baptized! Not sure if I've mentioned that or not but yeah he's thinking about a date and we are so pumped for him! He also made us dinner this week. Authentic Indian food. (Non and curry) All I can is, I am so white. I almost died it was so spicy. Don't get me wrong it was good, but holy crap. Ashwin took this into account though and made me some type of mango smoothy thing that was delicious and really calmed the curry! Oh oh and we also got lunch with THE Sister Betty Jean Guy. My Weiman got begaged! So exciting! And we had a 10/10 zone conference. District unity is at an all time high. Okay well yeah. I love Blacksburg. I love Sister Weiman and my district. I love my mission President and everyone I serve with. Literally blessed beyond measure and I can see God's hand in the simplest of details. Some funny quotes this week: "Sister Fisher I think your eyelashes leaked on your eye" - Elder Maybee "He readed me." -Brother Greene trying to explain that he had been left on read. Love yall lots! Thanks for all the prayers packages love and support you send my way! Have the best week. Kloveyoubye, Sister Fisher
