Hey hey!

This week was great! Super hot. Lots of walking. My farmers tan/burn is looking prime.

Graduation was this week so everyone has gone home for summer for the most part. Lots of goodbyes. RIP. But also some of the people we are teaching are finally more free so two of them came to church yesterday and we will start meeting regularly with them again hopefully! God bless.

But I remembered the spiritual thought I was going to share last week from zone conference.... it has to do with the atonement of Jesus Christ. So this time around in my read through of the book of Mormon I've really been focusing on the atonement or Jesus Christ and different ways I can apply it in my life and help others apply it in theirs. It's been so eye opening you guys. Going into the Book of Mormon with a specific question and topic in mind, wow! Mind blowing actually.

Anyway something that our mission President said at our meeting really stuck out to me. He shared 3rd Nephi 17:7-9. I'll give you a narration.

So. After Jesus was resurrected He went and visited his "other sheep" aka his people living in the ancient Americas. In this chapter He heals all the sick. In verse 7 he invites the people to bring the afflicted to him:

7 Have ye any that are sick among you? Bring them hither. Have ye any that are lame, or blind, or halt, or maimed, or leprous, or that are withered, or that are deaf, or that are afflicted in any manner? Bring them hither and I will heal them, for I have compassion upon you; my bowels are filled with mercy.

My favorite line....afflicted in any manner. Why is that so important? Hold up. I'll get there.

In verse 8 He tells them He knows their desires and He can see that they have faith in Him.

Okay then in verse 9 it says who was brought forth to be healed:

9..all the multitude, with one accord, did go forth...he did heal them every one as they were brought forth unto him.

A few points about this. First, Christ invited all those who are afflicted in any manner. I looked afflicted up for you in the dictionary and it says: mentally or physically unfit, or cause great unhappiness for or distress. I think it's fair to say that all of us at some point or another in our lives have been "afflicted" in some way. Hence

why ALL THE MULTITUDE went forth. They all needed the healing power the Savior and His atonement offer.

And second, it says they went together "with one accord" to Jesus Christ. They were united and moving with each other towards the Savior. And then they all were healed, 'every one'.

This is not some competition of who does and does not gets to be saved or healed. The atonement of Jesus Christ is individual no doubt, but it is also universal. It covers every single soul. None of us are exempt from pain, hurt, bad days, and all that. So let's gather people. Not to the nearest baptismal font (unless you really want to be baptized, then give me a shout;)), but towards the only source of true relief, strength, and healing, the Prince of Peace Himself. It's a group effort. I promise it is possible for each of us to feel our Savior's love and to experience the healing he offers us.

Jesus knows our faith, and our hearts and our desires. Let your desire be to do whatever it takes to get to get to him, and bring others with you.

I love yall so much! Stay dry and be safe! Thanks so much for everything as always!

Kloveyoubye,

Sister Fisher
