WEEK 29- “a forgetful fish”

Wow I almost made it a whole month without losing my bus pass. In the past I've been known to lose everything. Debit card, ID, college ID, and my phone and keys like to get lost at least a dozen times throughout the day. I'm the worst and it seems the mission has yet to change my ability to keep track of things so I'll be sneaking on the bus yet again until April. Speaking of things I lost... we had kind of a funny miracle on Thursday. I was playing the piano waiting for Hayes to meet us for his lesson when I noticed one of my earrings was missing. It was my favorite Kate Spade pearl earring my parents sent me so I was sad. Although I was not this dramatic, I laughed at the situation because it reminded me of the episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians when Kim loses her earring in the ocean and cries about it. Then Kourtney roasts her because she tells her there are people that are dying so the earring isn't a big deal. Any way so that put things into perspective and I wasn't super worried anymore. But anyway Hayes came in and saw we were looking for it. He on the other hand was super worried about it and sarcastically told me I should "pray about it" because that's what we always tell him to do. So then I was like you know what you're right we should pray about it. He laughed and then we all said a prayer together. We had a great lesson and then were on our way home. We were walking and Hayes passed us on his bike. We waved at him and then Sister Stoker looked down and my earring was right there on the sidewalk. It was completely dark and so lucky we saw it. So perfect. So we told Hayes and sent him a picture. He was amazed. He actually couldn't believe it. He said "Wow that's a miracle" and apparently shared the story on his Wii Chat which is like a Chinese Facebook I guess. Then he told us he was going to start praying more. I asked God to send us this little miracle to show Hayes that He is really there. He did just that. Might not seem like this huge deal but it was a big deal for Hayes so that's all that matters. In other news we had a mission tour this week and that gets ya on a spiritual high! Also I was so happy I got to see some of my Salem people and Queen Neilson. What a dream. So grateful. I learned a lot though, especially about finding new people to share the gospel with. One of the Scriptures that stood out to me was Ezekiel 34 2-15 2 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God unto the shepherds; Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks? 3 Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, ye kill them that are fed: but ye feed not the flock. 4 The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them. 5 And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered. 6 My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them. 7 ¶ Therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of the Lord; 8 As I live, saith the Lord God, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became meat to every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock; This talks about the importance of our role in bringing others unto Christ and the knowledge of His gospel. It's great to study and do things to strengthen our own testimonies, but what good is it if we are not sharing that testimony with someone else. We would be essentially like the Shepard described here. I know I definitely do not want to be labeled as this lazy slacker Sheppard. This chapter continues with describing what a Shepard should be. I think my dad summarizes this well when in his emails to me each week he says,"Alright get to work. No dirty straw in the pen, do dirt on the floor, and make sure everyone eats!" President Neilson said nothing is more important that bringing others into the fold of God. NOTHING. So I challenge you this week to find a way to reach out to others and share the light of the gospel with them. We survived spring break (aka empty campus) with beauty and grace as always. With that being said I'm way excited for everyone to be back and get back to work. Thanks for all the love, prayers, letters and packages. Oh and a shout out to my Ma and Pops for ordering my companion and I groceries this week. This grocery store pickup thing is genius! Gosh you know you're growing up when you get emotional over someone buying you groceries! Have the best week! Kloveyoubye, Sister Fisher
